The Ogun State Broadcasting
Corporation was established on 9th December, 1976 by the
Ogun State Government of Nigeria for the basic purposes
of Education, Enlightenment, Entertainment and Cultural
Propagation; broadcasting in English and Yoruba, two of
the main languages of the State.? It is a parastatal under
the Ministry of Information and Strategy, headed by the
highly proficient and cerebral Commissioner in the person
of Mr. Kayode Samuel.
The Station has held
her own in the strive for excellence but was still facing
the challenges of modern broadcasting particularly in making
the best of the new information highway.
The steady strides into
the global village of the World Wide Web began on April
2nd, 2006 with the appointment of the revered broadcast
professional, Princess Banke Ademola as General Manager.
This challenge was the
new General Manager¡¯s first port of call and with over
thirty-five years of experience, eighteen of which, being
in top level broadcasting and along with her new Management
team, it took little time to,
overhaul and remodel its programming;
-
redirect its news gathering and dissemination;
and
re-orientate and motivate the workforce through training,
re-training into giving their optimal best.
